Planting East and West Vineyard in Lander, Wyoming
The Sinks Canyon Vineyards & Winery completed the planting of our first vineyard. This was an amazing time where family and friends came together to prepare the land, laid out the rows, set end posts, intermediate posts, and prepared the holes for planting. Over 161 posts were set with a post hole digger and hand tamped in some pretty rocky ground. I can tell you that everyone ate well, and had no problems sleeping! After this work was completed, we planted 820 grape vines. In the East vineyard, Frontenac Blanc, Frontenac Gris, La Crescent, Traminette, and Itasca hybrid grapes were planted (All Whites). In the West vineyard Marechal Foch and Marquette hybrid grapes were planted (Red Wine Grapes). Next, we strung the trellis wires, placed grow tubes and stakes for each vine, and began irrigating the vines. One last step was setting up the perimeter in our fight against some natural predators, namely deer. We constructed 7.5 feet tall deer fences for each vineyard and installed gates.

California Wine Production Facility Preparation
Meanwhile, in our California location, preparation has been made to convert our small garage into a wine production facility. This involved upgrades to insulation, plumbing, electrical, floor coating, paint, installation of a mini-split ac unit and ventilation. Stainless steel fermentation tanks were added, grape crusher / destemmer, a must pump, and bladder press were procured.
