Wyoming
In Wyoming, nearly 2 acres of cold-hardy hybrid grapes such as Marquette, Frontenac, La Crescent, and Traminer were planted in two vineyards over 2020 and 2021. A 7.5 foot deer fence was installed surrounding both vineyards, and in 2022, a new drip irrigation system was installed. In 2022 we hosted the University of Wyoming at the vineyard for a grape growing symposium. Growing grapes in Wyoming is certainly a challenge with more extreme lows and a shorter growing season, but we are truly learning how to pioneer this frontier. This fall, bird netting is going up as we anticipate our first grape harvest after 4 years of dedication and hard work. Based on this year's growth, we expect to produce a barrel of Wyoming estate wine. Stay tuned for more information.

California
We started our first complete, large-scale fermentation in October of 2020 with 1.5 tons of Syrah grapes from Los Olivos, California. From our 2020 vintage we are preparing to bottle 2 barrels of Syrah, 1 barrel of Aglianico, and 1 barrel of Tannat. In 2022, another ton of Los Olivos Syrah was harvested, fermented, and began aging. Additionally, about 1/3 ton of Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested in Oak Glen California from a vineyard at 4000 feet elevation which will soon be part of a new American Viticultural Area (AVA), Yucaipa Valley. We are contracted to buy and ferment over one ton of Los Olivos Syrah, and have planned a 1/2 ton of Grenache as well this year. Our goal is to ramp up production starting in 2024.

The Business Began, and is Sustained by Family

God. Marriage. Family. Friends. Sinks Canyon Vineyards & Winery’s motto is “Like the beautiful journey from grapes to the glass, we have been crushed, transformed, and made new to celebrate life”. This motto has been forged in us through many ups and downs, strikes and gutters. Along this journey we have learned the true value of unconditional love, celebration with great friends, and of course the love of great wine.

For The Home & Office

In our marriage and family life, nothing has been more difficult than working through challenges associated with life, character flaws, and failures, but through humility, grace, and patience, we have been blessed to see the fruits of our hard work. This is the very reason we embarked on this journey. Through it all, we have been blessed to celebrate family, marriage, as we bask in God’s amazing creation. Professional photographers we are certainly not, however we really love many of the images we have been able to capture. We hope you enjoy them too! Beneath each photo is a brief description of the circumstance surrounding each image. We offer these images as high quality prints of various sizes, unframed and framed. These prints will be individually ordered to ensure quality and if you would like them framed, we will also do that individually. Cheers!

Our Story

Our passion is fellowship with good friends, both old and new. Celebrating life’s ups and downs over good food and quality wine. We are excited to completely immerse ourselves in the world of viticulture and winemaking. We hope you join us on our journey.

These past years has been about building a foundation and starting up

Over the past five years we have put our blood, sweat, and tears into establishing 2 acres of a vineyard in Wyoming with friends, and family. We have shared hard work while in the field, amazing family home-cooked meals sometimes brought out to the fields. We have planted sometimes by flashlight, on our hands and knees carefully scooping in soil and compost around the bare roots. In the winter of 2022 our grapes endured record-level temperatures of -30 degrees F and have mostly thrived. We have spent long weekends hand weeding around the plants and hand-fertilized the grapes to give them opportunities to thrive. Through all this, our relationships with God, family and friends have strengthened through deeper roots. Whether we are blessed with bountiful harvests in years to come, we measure our success and value based on the relationships we build.
